Louise Bloor - Sports & Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr)
With over 20 years in high-performance sports, Louise Bloor's journey began as an international athlete representing Great Britain in the 4x100m relay at the Commonwealth, European, World, and Olympic levels. In 2012, she qualified as a Performance Nutritionist, balancing both careers for four years before retiring from athletics in 2017.
Louise's first roles in nutrition were with British Diving and British Judo, where she worked with both sports through the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Across these cycles, she contributed to ten medals, including golds for Tom Daley & Matty Lee, Jack Laugher & Chris Mears in synchronised diving, and Chris Skelley in para judo. A major focus for her was building healthy nutrition cultures, promoting safe weight-making strategies in judo, and optimising energy intake and fueling strategies in diving.
She then took on the role of Lead Nutritionist for UK Athletics, where she continues to work with Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson and the M11 Track Club. In 2023, Louise joined the Football Association as Senior Nutritionist for the Lionesses, supporting the team to a World Cup runner-up finish. Recently, she began collaborating with the Hong Kong Sports Institute, working with the Rugby Sevens and Fifteens teams to implement a performance nutrition culture through education, tailored plans, and tournament nutrition.
On a personal note, inspired by a friend, Louise is now training for Hyrox Doubles, a sport that pairs well with her love for travel.
Philosophy: As a nutritionist, Louise initially felt pressure to conform to the social expectations of “healthy eating.” Growing up in the North on a diet of chips, beans, pie, mash, veggies, and lots of gravy (though not all at once!), she found the reality of nutrition to be more nuanced. Her interest in nutrition began with a love of baking and sharing cakes every Sunday with her grandmother until athletics became the focus.
Her philosophy centers on the idea that food should enhance both performance and health, while also being something to enjoy socially—or just in solitude with a slice of cake. When working with clients, Louise aims to create realistic, personalised plans that help achieve their goals while dispelling the “nutribull” and misinformation prevalent on social media. She welcomes any “is it true that…” questions during consultations, finding joy in addressing myths and helping people build a balanced, informed relationship with food.
